Hi.
I found an ISA modem the other day. This is the old style that appeared
to the system as a simple serial port... it even has jumpers for
setting the IRQs. haha.
I'd like to plug this thing into some linux machine around the office
catch stray incoming faxes. Problem is, I think all the machines around
here worth keeping powered up are PCI only.
I did a very quick search for ISA/PCI bridge stuff, and this is all I've
found so far:

It looks interesting and fun... but I haven't the time I need to "write
a 'Device Program' by [myself]". haha. I'd hardly know where to begin.
Anyway, have any of you dealt with somehow wedging an ISA device into a
PCI slot? I know I can work around this problem by buying an external
device for something like $200, which is more than I want to spend. Any
device and/or war stories are welcome.
Thanks,
- Ana
