[RLUG] Picnic is a go

Hey all,

I know I have been very quiet lately, and even irresponsible with
neglecting the GSA but my life is to a point that I can begin being a
part of all of this again and a picnic is a great way to reintroduce
myself.

Before I talk about dates I'd like to mention that I have a boat which
is set up for fishing, skiing, tubing, etc. The only thing it's not
good for is wake boarding since I have no tower. It appears that Rancho
San Rafael park is a popular choice so far but I cannot find any
information about a lake within it.

If we select a spot that has a lake I'll bring the boat out and we can
add water sports to the festivities. Location suggestions include
Lahontan, Pyramid or Tahoe. All are well within an acceptable driving
distance from the Reno/Sparks area.

Let me know what you all think about that.

As for dates, here is my weekend schedule for the next 6 weeks or so:

Sat 05/27: Attending the Vessel Examiner's course, Coast Guard Station
North Lake Tahoe
Sun 05/28: Patrolling Pyramid Lake with the Coast Guard Auxiliary (CGA)
and Civil Air Patrol

Sat 06/03: Labs and testing for the CGA's Weather module
Sun 06/04: Open

Sat 06/10: Staffing the "Kids Fish Free" event at Sparks Marina
Sun 06/11: Open

Sat 06/17: Fishing tournament (either staffing or participating in),
South Lake Tahoe
Sun 06/18: Open

Sat 06/24: Labs and testing for the CGA's Navigation module
Sun 06/25: Open

Sat 07/01 - Tue 07/04: You will find me on Lake Tahoe each day,
alternately patrolling with the CG and CGA on the water, participating
in water sports on the water, tying off on the big flotilla near Emerald
Bay for the fireworks display or bbq'ing/drinking/sleeping somewhere on
the shore. :)

In other words, a Sunday in June would definitely be the best for me.
hehe

On a different note, if any of you are interested in water sports on
pretty much any given weekend that I have open please let me know. I'd
love to have a regular or semi-regular group of folks that I can take
out onto the water with me.

Brian
