[RLUG] debian sarge / x / broken xterm

To just test, if you are logged into a shell of some sort and have
X-windows running, you can do: (in sh/bash)
DISPLAY=:0 xterm &
to launch it directly to your default display.
I'm not certain why your DISPLAY environment variable is not getting set
though.
