Strange, my system works with +x as the only option, and in every 
experience i have, it's worked that way (incl unix).
Maybe we can all do a test with it and see what the deal is - I've 
attached a text file with lines counting to 30 for testing purposes, but 
you can do whatever you want with it ;-)
