Thanks for the heads up, Todd. Had same problem under Knoppix
BUT
it made me think of something else also very simple (of course and
obvious too, duh.)
I have two USB ports in front and 6 in back.
The ones in back work just fine - under Knoppix or Ubuntu, so I can at least
(mostly) work around the issue.
However, there is still power going to the ones in front, because if I
plug in either
my PDA or Motorola phone - they start charging.
Now taking that a step further, I was attempting to work with moto4lin
and kmobiletools
while I had a Motorola cell phone plugged into the front ports.
So as I trace things back - it appears that something having to do with
that process has probably ^&#$ed the
front usb ports &/or controller. I made sure neither package was
running after I re-booted but still no joy when I
plug in a USB device in front.
Ideas on how they might be resurrected?
