[RLUG] December Party

Something that has been kind of fun in prior years is have the members
donate items for raffle at the party.

As to location - part of the issue is: do you want a pre-set menu
charging everyone the same or go off a regular menu and let each person
"take care of their own."

I will caution that on the latter, there have been problems in the past.
Most places, if you have a group of 8 or more, want everything on one
ticket and then add on the gratuity.

When you have one large check, it seems there is always one or more
individuals who forget or miscalculate their portion of the tax and tip
or how many drinks they ordered etc.  and the collection ends up a bit
short.  This is NOT to say anyone does this on purpose, stuff just
happens.

I would recommend a set menu and let people buy their own drinks from
the bar, since we have some non-drinkers and under age folks.

The Sante Fe comes to mind, ditto Great Basin or Silver Peak.  Many of
these places love to have parties on Tuesdays since that is a typically
slow night.
