[RLUG] Ubuntu Breezy cont'd

Brian,
I am wishing I had not started down the "Breezy" path ;^) now. "cuz that's exactly what I'm doing now - re-installing Hoary. It worked and was quite solid for how I was using it. Oh well. It's been a lot of years since I last tripped so badly over the "bleeding edge" 'cuz I thought the newest thing was so bright and shiny I just had to have it.
On the other hand - it was a bit of education about how dependencies can still be broken - even using apt-get.
Thanks for the attempt to help and the encouragement. I'll go back to checking for belly button lint while I re-install yet ONE MORE TIME!
Ciao
Dennis

While I can sympathize with your frustration I must point out that you
do not _have_ to upgrade to Breezy. All of the repositories for Hoary
are still active and available, and will be for some time to come thanks
to the philosophy behind Ubuntu.
I have not run into any problems with Breezy (I obviously run a
different set of packages and have different needs than you do), and I
actually prefer the minimalist approach to the base distribution.
However, you are obviously unhappy with it, so I encourage to go back to
Hoary.
